Cygnus Documentation
Welcome to the documentation for Cygnus, a desktop application for generating precision ephemerides -- listings of planetary positions over user-specified time ranges.
Cygnus supports geocentric, heliocentric, and topocentric perspectives, with configurable celestial bodies, date ranges, time intervals, and multiple output metrics. Whether you need a daily geocentric ephemeris for a single year or a monthly heliocentric ephemeris spanning decades, Cygnus produces the data you need in a structured, exportable format.
What You Can Do with Cygnus
- Generate Ephemerides from three coordinate perspectives: geocentric (Earth-centered), heliocentric (Sun-centered), and topocentric (observer location on Earth's surface)
- Generate Aspect Ephemerides that track the angular relationships between pairs of celestial bodies over time, from all three perspectives
- Configure Studies with your choice of celestial bodies, date ranges, time intervals, zodiac systems, and reference planes
- Save and Reuse Configurations using the preset system for both ephemeris settings and body selections
- Export Data to CSV files or copy records to the clipboard in Markdown or tab-delimited format
- Manage Multiple Studies within a single workspace, each with its own configuration and results
