Ephy Documentation

Welcome to the documentation for Ephy, a professional desktop application for generating precise planetary position ephemerides. Ephy produces tabular listings of celestial body positions over user-specified time ranges, supporting geocentric, heliocentric, and topocentric coordinate systems. It is designed for astrologers and researchers who need accurate, configurable planetary position data.

What You Can Do with Ephy​

Ephy provides a focused set of tools for generating and working with ephemeris data.

  • Generate geocentric ephemerides — Produce tables of planetary positions as observed from Earth's center over custom date ranges and intervals.
  • Generate heliocentric ephemerides — Produce tables of planetary positions as observed from the Sun, showing true orbital positions.
  • Generate topocentric ephemerides — Produce tables of planetary positions from a specific geographic location on Earth's surface, accounting for parallax effects.
  • Select celestial bodies and metrics — Choose which planets, nodes, and asteroids to include, and control which positional metrics appear in your results.
  • Save and reuse presets — Save common body selections and ephemeris configurations as named presets for quick reuse across studies.
  • View and search results — Browse generated ephemeris data in a table with visibility controls and date-based search.
  • Export to CSV — Export generated ephemeris data to CSV files for use in spreadsheets and other applications.
  • Manage workspaces — Organize your studies into workspaces that you save, reopen, and share.
  • Configure default settings — Set application and workspace defaults so new studies are pre-populated with your preferred parameters.
