Ephy Documentation
Welcome to the documentation for Ephy, a professional desktop application for generating precise planetary position ephemerides. Ephy produces tabular listings of celestial body positions over user-specified time ranges, supporting geocentric, heliocentric, and topocentric coordinate systems. It is designed for astrologers and researchers who need accurate, configurable planetary position data.
What You Can Do with Ephy
Ephy provides a focused set of tools for generating and working with ephemeris data.
- Generate geocentric ephemerides — Produce tables of planetary positions as observed from Earth's center over custom date ranges and intervals.
- Generate heliocentric ephemerides — Produce tables of planetary positions as observed from the Sun, showing true orbital positions.
- Generate topocentric ephemerides — Produce tables of planetary positions from a specific geographic location on Earth's surface, accounting for parallax effects.
- Select celestial bodies and metrics — Choose which planets, nodes, and asteroids to include, and control which positional metrics appear in your results.
- Save and reuse presets — Save common body selections and ephemeris configurations as named presets for quick reuse across studies.
- View and search results — Browse generated ephemeris data in a table with visibility controls and date-based search.
- Export to CSV — Export generated ephemeris data to CSV files for use in spreadsheets and other applications.
- Manage workspaces — Organize your studies into workspaces that you save, reopen, and share.
- Configure default settings — Set application and workspace defaults so new studies are pre-populated with your preferred parameters.
