New Workspace

Creating a new workspace gives you a clean starting point with no studies. Any studies you add to the new workspace will inherit their default parameter values from the current Workspace Defaults.

Creating a New Workspace​

  • Click the New button on the toolbar, select File > New, or press Ctrl+N (Cmd+N on macOS).

If the current workspace has unsaved changes, the Unsaved Changes Prompt appears before Ephy creates the new workspace.

Unsaved Changes Prompt​

The unsaved changes prompt appears automatically when you attempt to create a new workspace, open another workspace, or exit the application while unsaved changes exist. It prevents you from accidentally losing your work.

The prompt offers three options:

  • Yes — Saves the current workspace, then proceeds with the requested action.
  • No — Discards unsaved changes and proceeds with the requested action.
  • Cancel — Cancels the requested action and returns you to the current workspace.

To respond to the unsaved changes prompt:

  • Click Yes, No, or Cancel.
caution

Clicking No discards all unsaved changes permanently. Make sure you do not need your changes before proceeding.
