The Babylonians named the constellations along the Sun's path, then deliberately replaced them with twelve equal divisions of 30° — which is why the signs have never been the constellations.
Signs are divisions of the ecliptic. Right ascension is measured around a different circle, so a sign name attached to it names nothing — which is why the applications withhold them.
