About Dialog

The About dialog confirms which version of Compass you are running and shows your license or trial status. You reach it from the Help menu.

Open the About dialog​

To open the About dialog:

  1. Click Help on the menu bar.
  2. Click About in the Help menu.

What the About dialog shows​

The About dialog displays the following:

  • The Compass name and icon.
  • The version number of the copy you are running.
  • The Status field (see below).
  • The copyright line.

A spinner appears briefly while Compass resolves your license status, then the Status field settles on one of two values:

  • Activated: shown when a valid license is installed.
  • Trial days remaining: shown under a trial license, giving the number of days left before the trial ends.

Close the About dialog​

To close the About dialog:

  • Click the Close button.
