About Dialog
The About Dialog is a small window showing the application icon and name, the installed Version number, a Status line, and the copyright notice. Open it when you need to report a problem and want to quote your version, or when you want to check the state of your license.
Open the About Dialog
To see the version and license status:
- Click Help → About Dialog on the menu bar.
The dialog opens centered on the main window.
What the Dialog Reports
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Version | The version number of the copy of Cygnus you are running. |
| Status | Activated when a valid license is present. Under a trial license it reports the number of days remaining in the trial period. |
tip
Quote the Version number whenever you report a problem. It is the fastest way to establish whether the behavior you are seeing has already been fixed.
Close the About Dialog
- Click the Close button.
The dialog closes and the main window regains focus.

On macOS the Help menu entry reads About rather than About Dialog, and opens the same window.
