Graph Series Hover Readout

When you spot a feature in a curve (a turning point, a crossing, or a sudden change of slope), the hover readout tells you which body it belongs to and what the value is there, without switching to a table.

Read the Value Under the Pointer​

To identify a point on a curve:

  • Move the pointer over the plot so it rests near a plotted curve.

A crosshair and a marker snap to the nearest sample, and a three-line readout gives:

  • The body's name.
  • The sample's date, with the time of day added when the plot is zoomed in far enough for the time axis to label sub-day detail.
  • The value, with its unit: degrees per day for speed, AU for distance.

The metric itself is not named in the readout. The curve's color and dash pattern identify it, and the unit distinguishes the quantity.

The readout clears when the pointer leaves the plot, and it is suppressed while a drag is in progress, so panning the plot or adjusting an axis does not leave a stale marker behind.

The nearest sample is resolved against the underlying series data rather than the drawn line, so the value you read is exact even where the curve has been simplified for drawing.
