Deactivate License

Deactivating a license releases it from your current computer and frees up one activation slot. You can then use that activation on a different computer. This is useful when transferring a license to a new machine or decommissioning a computer.

Before You Deactivate​

The license for the selected product must be currently activated on this computer. The Deactivate command is available only when the status banner shows "Activated" and no other operation is in progress.

If you have lost access to the computer where the license was activated and cannot deactivate normally, use Deactivate All Licenses instead.

  • Click the Deactivate button at the bottom of the window.

Deactivate Using the Toolbar Button​

  • Click the Deactivate toolbar button.

  1. Click the License menu.
  2. Click Deactivate.

After Deactivation​

When deactivation succeeds:

  • The status banner changes to "Not Activated".
  • The Registered Name and Activation Code fields are cleared and become editable.
  • The Remaining Activations field is hidden.
  • R7.Activator removes the stored license token and encrypted credentials from this computer.

You can now activate the license on another computer using the same Registered Name and Activation Code from your purchase confirmation email.

If deactivation fails, an error dialog appears explaining the reason. Make sure your computer is connected to the internet and try again.
