Mundane Aspects Study

The Mundane Aspects Study generates an event whenever a pair of transiting bodies form a user-defined cycle angle. The study tracks aspects in the sky between two transiting bodies, without reference to a natal record.

You can also create a Mundane Aspects Study from the toolbar by clicking the Aspect Studies drop-down button and selecting Mundane Aspects.

Events Captured

A Mundane Aspects event occurs at the moment a pair of transiting bodies form an exact aspect (cycle angle) listed in the Aspects table. Aspects are evaluated between an inner body (the faster-moving body) and an outer body (the slower-moving body) chosen from the study's body lists. Aquila generates an event only when the cycle angle exactly matches one of the user-defined angles; the Aspects table does not have orbs.

Events Table Columns

The events table for a Mundane Aspects Study contains the following columns:

ColumnDescription
Date TimeDate and time of the aspect event.
Inner BodyName of the faster-moving (inner) body in the aspect.
Inner Body LongitudeEcliptic longitude (or right ascension) of the inner body at the moment of aspect.
Inner Body SignZodiac sign (with degrees) of the inner body.
Inner Body LatitudeEcliptic latitude (or declination) of the inner body.
Inner Body DistanceDistance of the inner body from the coordinate origin.
Inner Body SpeedDaily motion of the inner body.
Cycle AngleAngular separation of the two bodies measured along the cycle.
PhasePhase of the aspect cycle, derived from the cycle angle: New (0°), Waxing (between 0° and 180°), Full (180°), or Waning (between 180° and 360°).
SeparationAngular distance from the exact aspect at the moment of detection (always near zero because the study fires only at exact cycle-angle matches).
Outer BodyName of the slower-moving (outer) body in the aspect.
Outer Body LongitudeEcliptic longitude (or right ascension) of the outer body.
Outer Body SignZodiac sign (with degrees) of the outer body.
Outer Body LatitudeEcliptic latitude (or declination) of the outer body.
Outer Body DistanceDistance of the outer body from the coordinate origin.
Outer Body SpeedDaily motion of the outer body.
Event IntervalTime interval since the previous event in the series.
