Import Locations

Import reads locations out of a CSV file and adds them to the table in the Locations Editor. It is the quickest way to move a whole list in from another tool, or to restore one from a backup.

Overview

Imported rows are appended to what is already in the table rather than replacing it, and a message reports how many arrived. Nothing reaches disk until you save the editor, so a mistaken import can be undone by closing the editor without saving.

The file picker offers a CSV Files (*.csv) filter and an All Files (*.*) filter, and takes one file at a time.

Procedures

Import Locations from a CSV File

With the Locations Editor open:

  1. Click Data on the editor's menu bar.
  2. Click Import in the Data menu.
  3. Select the CSV file and confirm the choice.

The imported rows are appended to the table and the number that arrived is reported. The editor is now marked as having unsaved changes.
