Import Locations

Importing loads locations from a CSV file straight into the Locations Editor's list, so a set of places you already have in a spreadsheet can be brought in together rather than typed one row at a time.

Import Locations from a CSV File

With the Locations Editor open:

  1. Click Data → Import on the Locations Editor menu bar.
  2. Choose the CSV file. See Open a File from the OS Open Dialog.
  3. Click OK to dismiss the import summary.

The Data menu open in the Locations Editor, showing the Import command highlighted above the grid.

Cygnus does not ask you to confirm before it imports. Once it reads the file, a message reports how many locations were imported.

caution

Imported rows are appended to the existing list; nothing is replaced. Cygnus marks the editor as holding unsaved changes, so you must still click Save to keep the imported places. See Locations Editor.
