Reorder Studies

Reordering changes where a study sits in the Studies list. Use it to group related studies together, or to lift the studies you use most to the top of a long list. The study you move stays selected, and Cygnus marks the workspace as changed so the new order is kept when you save.

Two gestures are available: dragging with the pointer, and nudging with the keyboard.

Move a Study by Dragging

To move a study to a new position:

  • Drag the study row to the position you want in the Studies list and release it.

A translucent ghost row showing the study's type icon and name follows the pointer while the drag is in flight, so you can see exactly where the study will land. Releasing in the empty space below the last row moves the study to the end of the list.

note

A press becomes a drag only once the pointer has moved about 4 pixels from the press point, so a plain click still only selects the study.

Move a Study with the Keyboard

To nudge the selected study one place at a time:

  1. Click the study in the Studies list to select it.
  2. Press Alt+Up to move the study one place up.

Alt+Down moves it one place down. The study keeps both its selection and its keyboard focus. Cygnus ignores the gesture when the study is already at the top or the bottom of the list, so the selection never drifts to a different study.
