Delete Study
Deleting removes the selected study from the workspace, discarding its generated records with it. Cygnus asks you to confirm first, showing the prompt "Delete the selected study?" Once the study is gone, the study above it in the Studies list becomes the selected study; if it was the last study, the content pane returns to the application-icon watermark.
Delete the Selected Study
To remove a study from the workspace:
- Click the study to remove in the Studies list.
- Open the Edit menu.
- Click Delete Study in the Edit menu.
- Confirm the prompt. See Confirm a Yes/No Confirmation Prompt below.

The Delete Study button on the Toolbar, the Delete entry on the Studies list right-click menu, and the Delete key with the Studies list focused all reach the same command.
The command is unavailable when no study is selected, while the workspace is locked by a save or a load, and while the selected study is generating records.
Yes/No Confirmation Prompts
Cygnus raises a "Confirmation Required" prompt before every action that would throw work away. You will meet it when deleting a study, unlocking a study, deleting or replacing a preset, deleting locations, and resetting the graph colors. The two sections below describe the two answers.
Confirm a Yes/No Confirmation Prompt
Choose this when you want the action to go ahead.
- Click the Yes button.
The prompt closes and Cygnus carries out the action that raised it.
Decline a Yes/No Confirmation Prompt
Choose this when you have changed your mind.
- Click the No button.
The prompt closes, Cygnus abandons the action, and nothing changes.
