Latitude Extrema Study
The Latitude Extrema Study generates an event whenever a transiting body reaches a maximum or minimum in latitude (or declination, when an equatorial Reference Plane is in use).

Create a Latitude Extrema Study
To add a new Latitude Extrema Study to the active workspace:
- Click Mundane Studies on the menu bar.
- Click Declination Studies, then click Latitude Extrema in the submenu.
tip
You can also create a Latitude Extrema Study from the toolbar by clicking the Declination Studies drop-down button and selecting Latitude Extrema.
Events Captured
A Latitude Extrema event occurs when a body reaches a local minimum or maximum in latitude (or declination). The Event Type column distinguishes between maximum north latitude, maximum south latitude, and other extremum types.
Events Table Columns
The events table for a Latitude Extrema Study contains the following columns:

| Date Time | Date and time of the latitude extremum event. |
| Event Type | Type of latitude extremum (e.g., maximum north latitude, maximum south latitude). |
| Body | Name of the body reaching the latitude extremum. |
| Body Longitude | Ecliptic longitude (or right ascension) of the body at the extremum. |
| Body Sign | Zodiac sign (with degrees) of the body. |
| Body Latitude | Ecliptic latitude (or declination) of the body at the extremum (the maximum or minimum value). |
| Body Distance | Distance of the body from the coordinate origin. |
| Body Speed | Daily motion of the body. |
| Event Interval | Time interval since the previous latitude extremum event. |
