Nodal Transits Study
The Nodal Transits Study generates an event whenever a transiting body crosses its ascending or descending node (the points where a body's orbital plane intersects the ecliptic).

Create a Nodal Transits Study
To add a new Nodal Transits Study to the active workspace:
- Click Mundane Studies on the menu bar.
- Click Declination Studies, then click Nodal Transits in the submenu.
tip
You can also create a Nodal Transits Study from the toolbar by clicking the Declination Studies drop-down button and selecting Nodal Transits.
Events Captured
A Nodal Transits event occurs when a body crosses its own ascending node (the body moves from south of the ecliptic to north) or descending node (the body moves from north of the ecliptic to south). Both subtypes are reported in a single events table, distinguished by the Event Type column.
Events Table Columns
The events table for a Nodal Transits Study contains the following columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Date Time | Date and time of the nodal transit event. |
| Event Type | Type of nodal transit (e.g., crossing the ecliptic ascending or descending). |
| Body | Name of the body crossing the node. |
| Body Longitude | Ecliptic longitude (or right ascension) of the body at the event. |
| Body Sign | Zodiac sign (with degrees) of the body. |
| Body Latitude | Ecliptic latitude (or declination) of the body (zero at the node). |
| Body Distance | Distance of the body from the coordinate origin. |
| Body Speed | Daily motion of the body. |
| Event Interval | Time interval since the previous nodal transit event. |
