Solar Limit Transits
The Solar Limit Transits study finds when a body's declination crosses the Sun's declination limits.
Creating a Solar Limit Transits Study
To create a Solar Limit Transits study:
- Click Mundane Studies → Declination Studies → Solar Limit Transits on the menu bar.
The new study opens with the workspace's default settings, ready to configure. You can also create it from the study-group dropdown button on the main toolbar.
Events Captured
A solar limit transit occurs when a body's declination crosses one of the Sun's declination limits. These limits are defined by the obliquity of the ecliptic, currently about ±23.4°, and mark the greatest declination the Sun reaches north and south of the celestial equator. Each event records a selected body crossing one of these boundaries within the study's date range.
An Event Type dropdown controls which limit crossings are captured.

Events Table Columns
The events table shows the following columns for a Solar Limit Transits study. Many are hidden by default; you can show or hide any column by right-clicking a column header (see Event Column Visibility).
