Solar Limit Transits Study

The Solar Limit Transits Study generates an event whenever a transiting body's declination crosses the Sun's declination limits, which are defined by the obliquity of the ecliptic (currently about ±23.4375°). A body that exceeds these limits is said to be "out of bounds".

Create a Solar Limit Transits Study

To add a new Solar Limit Transits Study to the active workspace:

  1. Click Mundane Studies on the menu bar.
  2. Click Declination Studies, then click Solar Limit Transits in the submenu.
tip

You can also create a Solar Limit Transits Study from the toolbar by clicking the Declination Studies drop-down button and selecting Solar Limit Transits.

Events Captured

A Solar Limit Transits event occurs when a body's declination crosses the maximum northerly or southerly declination of the Sun (set by the obliquity of the ecliptic). Crossing into "out of bounds" declination is widely studied for its astrological significance.
