Solar Limit Transits Study
The Solar Limit Transits Study generates an event whenever a transiting body's declination crosses the Sun's declination limits, which are defined by the obliquity of the ecliptic (currently about ±23.4375°). A body that exceeds these limits is said to be "out of bounds".

Create a Solar Limit Transits Study
To add a new Solar Limit Transits Study to the active workspace:
- Click Mundane Studies on the menu bar.
- Click Declination Studies, then click Solar Limit Transits in the submenu.
You can also create a Solar Limit Transits Study from the toolbar by clicking the Declination Studies drop-down button and selecting Solar Limit Transits.
Events Captured
A Solar Limit Transits event occurs when a body's declination crosses the maximum northerly or southerly declination of the Sun (set by the obliquity of the ecliptic). Crossing into "out of bounds" declination is widely studied for its astrological significance.
Events Table Columns
The events table for a Solar Limit Transits Study contains the following columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Date Time | Date and time of the solar-limit transit event. |
| Event Type | Type of solar-limit transit (crossing of the Sun's declination limit). |
| Body | Name of the body crossing the solar declination limit. |
| Body Longitude | Ecliptic longitude (or right ascension) of the body at the event. |
| Body Sign | Zodiac sign (with degrees) of the body. |
| Body Latitude | Ecliptic latitude (or declination) of the body. |
| Body Distance | Distance of the body from the coordinate origin. |
| Body Speed | Daily motion of the body. |
| Event Interval | Time interval since the previous solar-limit transit event. |
