Parallel Aspect Settings
The Parallels tab defines the two declination aspects, Parallel and Contraparallel, side by side. If you work in declination, this is where you set the tolerances you trust and the colors that keep parallels distinct from the ecliptic aspects on the same wheel.
Overview
There is no list on this tab, because the two kinds are fixed: you cannot add a third declination aspect or remove one of these two. Each kind occupies its own column and carries three controls:

| Color view | The color this kind's chords are drawn in, shared across both planes. |
A chart applies whichever of the two orbs its own reference plane calls for, so both are worth setting even when only one plane is in use today.
This tab decides how parallels are matched and drawn. Whether a given chart draws them at all is decided by that chart's own Paral. Aspects dropdown. See Chart Calculation Frame.
Like everything in this window, these settings belong to one chart type, and nothing is written to disk until you press Save. See Aspect Settings Window.
Parallel Settings
To reach these settings, click the Parallels tab.
Every field already holds its current value, so change only the settings you want to adjust:
- The Parallel column's Ecliptic Orb and Equatorial Orb boxes set the matching tolerances. Between them these two decide how close in declination a pair must stand to be matched as a parallel, and a chart applies whichever of the two its own reference plane calls for.
- The Parallel color view sets the chord appearance. It governs the color parallel chords are drawn in, shared across both planes, which is how parallels are told apart from the ecliptic aspects on the same wheel.
The Parallel column holds the new orbs and color, and any open chart of that type that draws parallels redraws to match.
Contraparallel Settings
To reach these settings, click the Parallels tab.
Every field already holds its current value, so change only the settings you want to adjust:
- The Contraparallel column's Ecliptic Orb and Equatorial Orb boxes set the matching tolerances. Between them these two decide how close in opposed declination a pair must stand to be matched as a contraparallel, and the tolerances are kept separately from the Parallel column's.
- The Contraparallel color view sets the chord appearance. It governs the color contraparallel chords are drawn in, shared across both planes, which is what separates them at a glance from the parallels beside them.
The Contraparallel column holds the new orbs and color, and any open chart of that type that draws contraparallels redraws to match.
