Mundane Stations Study

The Mundane Stations Study generates an event whenever a transiting body stations retrograde or direct. Both station types are reported in a single events table, distinguished by the Event Type column.

Create a Mundane Stations Study

To add a new Mundane Stations Study to the active workspace:

  1. Click Mundane Studies on the menu bar.
  2. Click Stations, then click Mundane Stations in the submenu.
tip

You can also create a Mundane Stations Study from the toolbar by clicking the Station Studies drop-down button and selecting Mundane Stations.

Events Captured

A Mundane Stations event occurs when a body's longitudinal speed crosses zero, marking either a retrograde station (the body changes from direct to retrograde motion) or a direct station (the body changes from retrograde to direct motion).

Events Table Columns

The events table for a Mundane Stations Study contains the following columns:

Event TypeType of station (Retrograde Station or Direct Station).
BodyName of the body that has stationed.
Body LongitudeEcliptic longitude (or right ascension) of the body at the station.
Body SignZodiac sign (with degrees) of the body at the station.
Body LatitudeEcliptic latitude (or declination) of the body.
Body DistanceDistance of the body from the coordinate origin.
Body SpeedDaily motion of the body (zero at the station).
Event IntervalTime interval since the previous station event.
