Create Study
Add a new study to your workspace to begin a new line of astrological inquiry. Aquila offers two kinds of studies: generator studies, which generate discrete celestial events over a date range, and the timeline study, which aggregates events drawn from other studies. Every new study is created with the workspace's default settings and added to the Studies list, ready for you to configure.
Creating a Generator Study
Generator studies are organized into two menus on the menu bar:
- Transit Studies lists each transit study type directly on the menu.
- Mundane Studies groups its study types into submenus by category.
To create a generator study:
- Open the Mundane Studies or Transit Studies menu and click the study type you want. For example, click Transit Studies → Transiting Aspects, or click Mundane Studies → Aspects → Mundane Aspects.
Each study type is also available from the matching study-group dropdown button on the toolbar.
Creating a Timeline Study
A timeline study collects events generated by other studies into a single combined view.
To create a timeline study:
- Click Other Studies → Timeline Study on the menu bar, or click the New Timeline Study button on the toolbar.
After Creating a Study
A new study opens with the workspace's default settings already applied, so you can adjust only the settings you need before generating events. Each study type has its own configuration options, documented on that type's own page. For example, see Mundane Aspects or Transiting Aspects for generator studies, or Timeline Study for the timeline study.
