Chart Bodies Selection

The bodies list is the grouped, checkbox list that appears on every chart settings panel and controls which celestial bodies the wheel plots. The same list appears in several roles: as the single Bodies list on Mundane and Natal charts, and as the Transiting Bodies and Natal Bodies lists on a Transit chart. In every role it works the same way.

The bodies list​

Bodies are organized under collapsible classification headers:

  • Diurnal Angles
  • Planets
  • Barycenters
  • Lunar Axis
  • Asteroids
  • Centaurs

A header appears only when the list holds at least one body of that classification, and each group expands or collapses from its header row or chevron. Each body has a checkbox: check it to plot the body, uncheck it to remove it.

Available bodies​

The bodies offered in the list depend on the coordinate origin set on the chart settings panel. Two body sets are possible.

Geocentric and topocentric charts​

Under a geocentric or topocentric coordinate origin, the list offers 25 bodies across six classifications:

  • Diurnal Angles: Ascendant, Medium Coeli, Descendant, Imum Coeli
  • Planets: Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto
  • Barycenters: Tenet
  • Lunar Axis: Lunar Apogee, Mean Apogee, North Node, Mean Node
  • Asteroids: Vesta, Juno, Ceres, Pallas
  • Centaurs: Chiron, Pholus

Heliocentric charts​

Under a heliocentric coordinate origin, the list offers 16 bodies across four classifications. The Diurnal Angles and Lunar Axis groups do not appear, and the Planets group lists Earth in place of the Sun and Moon:

  • Planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto
  • Barycenters: Tenet
  • Asteroids: Vesta, Juno, Ceres, Pallas
  • Centaurs: Chiron, Pholus

Toggle a single body​

  • Click a body's checkbox to include or exclude it. The chart recalculates.

Expand and collapse groups​

  • Click a group header row to show or hide the bodies in that classification. The chevron rotates to reflect the open or closed state.

Select or deselect several bodies at once​

A right-click menu on any body row acts on the highlighted rows, so you can include or exclude several bodies in one step. Right-clicking a group header row does not open this menu.

To include several bodies:

  1. Select one or more body rows in the list.
  2. Right-click a selected row and select Select.

To exclude several bodies:

  1. Select one or more body rows in the list.
  2. Right-click a selected row and select Deselect.

Clear all bodies​

Clear All removes every body in the list, including bodies hidden inside collapsed groups, regardless of which rows are highlighted.

  • Right-click any body row and select Clear All.

Presets​

You can save and recall named sets of bodies from the same right-click menu. See Chart Bodies Presets.
