Natal Chart Configuration

The settings panel runs down the left side of a Natal chart window. At the top is the Natal Record picker, followed by the Natal Date and Natal Time, then the frame and display controls (Zodiac, Coord. Origin, Ref. Plane, Orientation, House System, and Paral. Aspects), above the shared bodies list and aspects grid. The record supplies both the moment and the location, so there is no separate Location control on this panel. Change any control and the wheel recalculates live.

Configure the Natal chart

To cast and adjust a Natal chart:

  1. Select a record from the Natal Record dropdown, then adjust the Natal Date and Natal Time if needed. Selecting a record fills in its birth date, time, and location.
  2. Define the ephemeris frame with the Zodiac, Coord. Origin, and Ref. Plane dropdowns. Together these establish the coordinate system the body positions are computed in.
  3. Set the wheel orientation and houses with the Orientation and House System dropdowns.
  4. Select the parallel-aspect display from the Paral. Aspects dropdown.

The wheel recalculates as you change each control.

note

The Orientation dropdown is disabled under a heliocentric coordinate origin, and the House System dropdown is enabled only while the orientation is Horizon.

The natal record, date, and time

Natal Record: your saved birth records. This is a searchable dropdown, so you can type to filter the list. Choosing a record loads its date, time, and location into the chart. Manage the list in the Natal Records Editor.

Natal Date and Natal Time: the birth moment, filled in automatically from the selected record. These fields are primarily for reference and normally remain unchanged, but they stay editable so you can experiment with "what-if" adjustments to the moment without altering the saved record.
