Chart Wheel
The wheel is the drawing at the right of a chart window: the zodiac band, the diurnal angles, the house cusps when a house system applies, the body glyphs at their positions, and the aspect chords drawn between them.
Overview
The wheel redraws by itself whenever a setting or the chart's moment changes, so there is nothing to refresh and no Draw button to press.
What it shows depends on the choices you have made elsewhere in the window:
- Which points appear comes from the bodies list.
- Which chords are drawn comes from the aspect angles grid and the orbs set in Aspect Settings. Parallel and contraparallel aspects are drawn as dashed chords.
- How the wheel is turned and divided comes from the Chart Calculation Frame.
- The colors come from the Chart Colors tab.
Two optional overlays are driven from the display strip beneath the wheel: the body latitude and declination values, and the chart information block.
A busy wheel can be hard to read, so bodies and aspect chords respond to the pointer. The outer band's signs, houses, and cusps do not: they give no hover feedback and the pointer stays as it is over them.
Procedures
Bring a Body Forward on the Wheel
To pick a single body glyph out of a crowded wheel:
- Move the pointer over a body glyph on the wheel.
The glyph enlarges in place and the pointer changes to a hand. Moving off it restores the glyph.
Bring an Aspect Chord Forward on the Wheel
To follow one aspect chord across a wheel crowded with them:
- Move the pointer over an aspect chord on the wheel.
The chord thickens in place and the pointer changes to a hand. Moving off it restores the chord.
