Transit Chart
A Transit chart plots a moving, transiting sky against a fixed natal record. It carries two point sets rather than one, and the aspects it draws are the ones matched between them, which is what shows you which transiting bodies are contacting which natal points.
Overview
A Transit chart holds two moments at once:
- The transiting moment, stepped from the time navigation band above the wheel. See Chart Time Navigation.
- The natal reference moment, taken from the natal record you choose on the Natal Data tab.
The settings column is organized as two stacked tab pairs, so both halves of the comparison are set up in one place. The upper pair holds Ephemeris, which carries the transiting side's Location row above the six calculation-frame rows, and Natal Data, which carries the Natal Record dropdown with the Natal Date and Natal Time it fills in. The lower pair holds Transiting Bodies & Aspects and Natal Bodies, so each side of the comparison gets its own point set. See Transit Chart Configuration.
Telling the two point sets apart
Both point sets are drawn on the same band of the wheel, at one shared radius, so a transiting body and a natal body at the same degree sit side by side rather than one outside the other. What distinguishes them is the marker each is drawn with:
- Transiting points draw as filled dots, with their glyphs in full color.
- Natal points draw as open rings, with their glyphs muted.
Read the wheel by marker, not by distance from the center.
How it differs from the other chart types
- Against a Mundane chart: a Transit chart adds a second, natal point set on the same band, and the aspects matched between the two.
- Against a Natal chart: a Transit chart has a transiting moment of its own to move through time, so its time navigation band carries a date picker and a time picker.
Opening a Transit Chart
A Transit chart opens for the default location at the current moment with the default natal record as its natal reference.
