Ephemeris Presets

An ephemeris preset saves a combination of ephemeris settings, the location, zodiac, coordinate origin, and reference plane, under a name you choose. Presets are shared across studies, so you can reuse a familiar setup without entering it again. A default preset is applied to each new study you create.

Ephemeris presets are reached from the presets button beside the Location dropdown in a study's Ephemeris Settings.

When you create or rename a preset, Cygnus shows a small prompt with a single text field and Save and Cancel buttons. The Save button stays disabled until you type a name.

Apply an Ephemeris Preset​

To apply a saved preset to the current study:

  1. Click the presets button beside the Location dropdown.
  2. Click Presets to open the saved presets.
  3. Click the name of the preset to apply it.

Create a New Ephemeris Preset​

To save the current ephemeris settings as a new preset:

  1. Click the presets button beside the Location dropdown.
  2. Click New Preset.
  3. Type a name and click Save.

Set a Preset as the Default​

The default preset is applied automatically to new studies. To set one:

  1. Click the presets button beside the Location dropdown.
  2. Click Presets to open the saved presets.
  3. Right-click the preset and select Set Default.

Clear the Default Preset​

To stop applying any preset to new studies:

  1. Click the presets button beside the Location dropdown.
  2. Click Clear Default.

Rename an Ephemeris Preset​

To change a preset's name:

  1. Click the presets button beside the Location dropdown.
  2. Click Presets to open the saved presets.
  3. Right-click the preset and select Rename.
  4. Type the new name and click Save.

Replace an Ephemeris Preset​

Replacing a preset overwrites it with the study's current ephemeris settings. To replace one:

  1. Click the presets button beside the Location dropdown.
  2. Click Presets to open the saved presets.
  3. Right-click the preset and select Replace.

Delete an Ephemeris Preset​

To remove a preset from the shared library:

  1. Click the presets button beside the Location dropdown.
  2. Click Presets to open the saved presets.
  3. Right-click the preset and select Delete.
