Aspect Metrics List

Choose which measures of each body pair's relationship you see. The aspect metrics list is a checklist of pair metrics on the two aspect study types. Open it on the Body & Aspect Metrics tab of an Aspect Ephemeris study, or on the Aspect Metrics tab of a Graphic Aspect Ephemeris study, and check or uncheck Cycle Angle, Phase or Separation.

Checking or unchecking a metric changes the table or redraws the graph without generating the study again, and the list stays available before and after the study is generated. On an Aspect Ephemeris study, you can also choose the table's columns by right-clicking a column heading, as described in Column Visibility Menu.

Before you follow the procedures on this page, select an Aspect Ephemeris or Graphic Aspect Ephemeris study in the Studies list.

Show or Hide an Aspect Metric​

Choose whether a pair metric is shown for every body pair.

  1. Click the Body & Aspect Metrics tab (Aspect Metrics on a Graphic Aspect Ephemeris study).
  2. Click the metric's check box.

On Aspect Ephemeris studies, selecting Cycle Angle, Phase or Separation adds its column for every body pair to the ephemeris table, and clearing it removes those columns. On Graphic Aspect Ephemeris studies, the metric's curves are added to or removed from the graph. While the list has the keyboard focus, pressing Space toggles every highlighted metric row at once.

Select Several Aspect Metrics at Once​

Select a range of aspect metrics in one action.

  1. Click the Body & Aspect Metrics tab (Aspect Metrics on a Graphic Aspect Ephemeris study).

  2. Highlight the metric rows you want to select.

    tip

    To highlight a range, click its first metric row and Shift-click its last. To highlight metric rows that are not next to each other, Cmd-click (Ctrl-click on Windows) each row.

  3. Right-click one of the highlighted metric rows.

  4. Click Select in the context menu.

Every highlighted aspect metric is selected, and its columns or curves are shown. The highlight clears when the menu closes.

Deselect Several Aspect Metrics at Once​

Clear a range of aspect metrics in one action.

  1. Click the Body & Aspect Metrics tab (Aspect Metrics on a Graphic Aspect Ephemeris study).

  2. Highlight the metric rows you want to clear.

    tip

    To highlight a range, click its first metric row and Shift-click its last. To highlight metric rows that are not next to each other, Cmd-click (Ctrl-click on Windows) each row.

  3. Right-click one of the highlighted metric rows.

  4. Click Deselect in the context menu.

Every highlighted aspect metric is cleared, and its columns or curves are hidden. The highlight clears when the menu closes.

Clear All Aspect Metrics​

Clear every aspect metric in the list.

  1. Click the Body & Aspect Metrics tab (Aspect Metrics on a Graphic Aspect Ephemeris study).
  2. Right-click any metric row in the list.
  3. Click Clear All in the context menu.

Every aspect metric is cleared, so the ephemeris table shows no pair columns, or the graph plots no curves.

Metrics Row Context Menu​

Right-clicking any metric row opens this menu, with no separator. It stays available after the study is generated.
