Chart Window
The chart window is the single workspace that hosts every chart type. The same window serves Mundane, Natal, and Transit charts, showing the settings panel that matches the chart's type beside the wheel so that your changes recalculate live.
Window layout
The chart window is organized into the following regions:
- Toolbar: a small toolbar with buttons that open the Chart Settings and Aspect Settings editors.
- Settings panel: the chart-type settings down the left side, resizable with a splitter.
- Time-navigation band: a strip across the top-right for stepping the chart through time.
- Message banner: a line above the wheel that shows calculation notices and errors.
- Wheel: the rendered wheel chart, filling the right side of the window.

Open the settings editors
The window's toolbar opens the two settings editors that apply to the chart.
To open the Chart Settings editor:
- Click the Chart Settings button on the chart window toolbar.
To open the Aspect Settings editor for this chart's type:
- Click the Aspect Settings button on the chart window toolbar.
The Chart Settings editor is a single shared editor; the Aspect Settings editor is specific to the chart's type. For what each editor controls, see Chart Settings and Aspect Settings.
Resize the settings panel
To give the settings or the wheel more room:
- Drag the splitter between the settings panel and the wheel left or right.
