Yods

The Yods study finds when three bodies form a yod, sometimes called the "finger of God," a configuration that points to a single focal body.

Creating a Yods Study

To create a Yods study:

  • Click Mundane Studies → Aspect Patterns → Yods on the menu bar.

The new study is added to the Studies list and opens with your workspace's default settings, ready to configure. You can also create it from the study-group dropdown button on the main toolbar.

Events Captured

This study records an event each time three bodies form a yod: two bodies each make a quincunx (150 degree) aspect to a focal, or apex, body, while those two bodies are sextile (60 degrees) to each other. The three bodies are drawn from the study's inner, middle, and outer body groups.

The configuration is measured against the pattern's aspect orb, so both quincunxes and the sextile must fall within that orb for an event to fire. Each event reports all three bodies (Body1, Body2, and Body3) and the angular separation of each pair.

Events Table Columns

The events table can display the following columns for this study. Many are hidden by default; to show or hide any column, right-click a column header (see Event Column Visibility). Column headers that name longitude or latitude are relabeled to right ascension and declination when the study's Reference System uses an equatorial reference plane.
