Main Toolbar

The toolbar is the icon strip beneath the menu bar. It mirrors the commands you reach for most often, so you do not have to walk a menu each time. The left side carries the three chart buttons, the Chart Settings button, and the Aspect Settings dropdown button; the right side carries the update button and the theme switch.

The three chart buttons and the Chart Settings button stay disabled until Compass has finished loading its saved settings, presets, locations, and natal records. The Aspect Settings dropdown button always opens, but the three chart types inside its flyout are disabled over the same period.

note

The update button is not a permanent fixture. When your installed version is already current it never appears and takes up no space, so the theme switch sits at the right edge of the toolbar on its own.
