Solar Eclipse Activations
A Solar Eclipse Activations study finds the moments when a solar eclipse occurs that is aspecting a natal body.
Creating a Solar Eclipse Activations Study
To create a Solar Eclipse Activations study:
- Click Transit Studies → Solar Eclipse Activations on the menu bar.
The new study opens with your workspace's default settings, ready to configure.
Events Captured
This study reports each solar eclipse that forms an aspect, within the transit orb, to one of your selected natal bodies. The aspect to the natal body activates it, so every event ties a solar eclipse to the natal body it engages. Events can include total, annular, hybrid, and partial solar eclipses.
Each event records the eclipse and its Saros details, the cycle angle it forms with the natal body, and the activated natal body, along with the natal body's position and motion.

Events Table Columns
The events table lists the following columns for a Solar Eclipse Activations study. Many are hidden by default; you can show or hide any column by right-clicking a column header (see Event Column Visibility). Some columns are relabeled when the study uses an equatorial reference plane, as noted below.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Date Time | Date and time of the solar-eclipse activation event. |
| Eclipse Type | Type of solar eclipse (total, annular, partial, etc.). |
| Saros Series | Saros series number of the eclipse. |
| Member Number | Member number within the Saros series. |
| Eclipse Longitude | Ecliptic longitude of the eclipse. Header shows "Eclipse Longitude" (ecliptic) or "Eclipse Right Asc" (equatorial). |
| Eclipse Sign | Zodiac sign of the eclipse. |
| Eclipse Latitude | Ecliptic latitude of the eclipse. Header shows "Eclipse Latitude" (ecliptic) or "Eclipse Declination" (equatorial). |
| Cycle Angle | Cycle angle (aspect) between the eclipse and the natal body. |
| Phase | Applying or separating phase. |
| Separation | Angular separation from exactitude. |
| Natal Body | The natal body being aspected. |
| Natal Body Longitude | Ecliptic longitude of the natal body. Header shows "Natal Body Longitude" (ecliptic) or "Natal Body Right Asc" (equatorial). |
| Natal Body Sign | Zodiac sign of the natal body. |
| Natal Body Latitude | Ecliptic latitude of the natal body. Header shows "Natal Body Latitude" (ecliptic) or "Natal Body Declination" (equatorial). |
| Natal Body Distance | Distance of the natal body. |
| Natal Body Speed | Longitudinal speed of the natal body. |
| Event Interval | Interval (days) since the previous event. |
