Station Activations

A Station Activations study finds the moments when a transiting body stations retrograde or direct while activating a natal body.

Creating a Station Activations Study

To create a Station Activations study:

  • Click Transit Studies → Station Activations on the menu bar.

The new study opens with your workspace's default settings, ready to configure.

Events Captured

A body stations when it appears to pause and reverse direction, either turning retrograde or turning direct. This study reports each time a transiting body stations while conjunct, within the transit orb, a natal body. That conjunction activates the natal body.

An Event Type selector controls which stations the study captures. You can capture all station activations, or restrict the results to retrograde activations only or direct activations only.

Each event records the stationing transiting body and the activated natal body, along with each body's position, motion, and the angular separation between them.

Events Table Columns

The events table lists the following columns for a Station Activations study. Many are hidden by default; you can show or hide any column by right-clicking a column header (see Event Column Visibility). Longitude and latitude columns show ecliptic values, or right ascension and declination when the study uses an equatorial reference plane.
