Natal Data

Transit studies compare moving bodies against a fixed reference point in time. The Natal Data panel anchors the study to that reference by letting you choose a saved natal record and adjust its date and time.

The panel provides three controls:

  • Natal Record: a searchable selector listing the natal records you have saved in your Natal Records library.
  • Natal Date: the reference date the study transits against.
  • Natal Time: the reference time the study transits against.

Selecting a natal record fills the Natal Date and Natal Time fields from that record. Both fields remain editable afterward, so you can shift the date or time for what-if comparisons without changing the saved record.

Configuring the Natal Data

To anchor a transit study:

  • Select a Natal Record, then adjust the reference date and time (Natal Date, Natal Time) if you want to explore a different moment.

Natal records are created and maintained in the Natal Records Editor.
